OK. Everybody on the Web has been linking to this, and let's face it - it's funny and clever. I still think there's some merit in Segway, however. It may not be the people transporter/scooter thing, but something tells me the computer/gyro component will be the basis for some important technology.

The daily 9/11 obits "Portraits of Grief" in the New York Times are a necessary chronicle of our history, some mournful, others inspirational. We all have been reading of the billions -- yes, that's with a "b" -- of dollars raised by the various charities on behalf of the victims of 9/11, and prominent in the services provided is "grief counseling" or "grief therapy." You can't help but wonder, with all that money available AFTER THREE MONTHS, why EVERY SINGLE FAMILY affected has not been contacted and assessed.
If that had been done, maybe -- just maybe -- this immeasurably sad article may not have been written.

For those of you who traded bin Laden futures for Arafat's, I think you should consider a new broker.

THE "GET" OF THE CENTURY -- Drudge claims London's Daily Mirror will report tomorrow that Bin Laden is planning a TV suicide - as the catalyst to trigger further world-wide lunacy. No doubt every TV booker is working overtime trying for the exclusive. But too late for the November sweeps and too early for February's. I can't help getting the feeling that this is either more British tabloidism or some sort of homage to Paddy Chayevsky on the 25th anniversary of "Network."
